About Our Research Lab Relocation/Clinical Laboratory Relocation Services

Our research lab relocation services are extremely comprehensive and in-depth. This ensures that we are able to achieve the highest standards when it comes to the safe transportation of all laboratory contents.

Here is a brief breakdown of our approach:

• Pre-Move Survey

  The relocation process begins with a pre-move survey, which is used to determine the scope of your lab and its contents.

  This allows us to take proper precautionary measures such as obtaining special permits and formulating an Emergency Response Assistance Plan, if hazardous materials are present.

• Packing

  Armstrong Scientific Transport uses specialized packing materials and techniques depending on the nature of your equipment. Refrigerated moves will require emptying out contents, decommissioning and sanitizing (items will be stored in a cooler).

  Freezer moves require that steps are taken to ensure that the freezer is hooked up to a power source during transportation.

  We also use a 3-part packing system that includes a primary leak-proof container, a secondary leak-proof container and rigid outer packing.

  All contents will be inventoried and labelled.

  It is also at this point that appropriate safety measures are taken regarding safe handling. Material safety data-sheets will be read prior to moving.

• Transportation

  Our transportation truck/trailer is able to monitor the operational state of all equipment during transportation. It is also climate-controlled.

  A crew member is present with each piece of equipment at every point of the relocation and load checks are performed every 4 hours.

During transportation, every single piece of equipment will be attended to. Load checks are performed every 4 hours.
